Challenge
The ARC Residences project at 570 Coronation Drive, Toowong presented several significant construction and design challenges due to its absolute riverfront location. Situated on one of Brisbane’s busiest arterial roads, the site experiences approximately 80,000 vehicles passing daily, creating major logistical hurdles for deliveries and worker access. The architectural complexity of the striking curved, undulating arched podium and riparian-inspired form demanded exceptional precision in construction, extensive formwork, and seamless integration of structural elements with generous outdoor terraces and balconies. Proximity to the river further required robust tidal and moisture management strategies, all while preserving the building’s elegant, light-responsive design and expansive views.
